Here Comes The Band is Oregon artist Stephen Cohen's first CD of children's music. This is a children's album suitable for adults or is it an adult album suitable for children? Regardless, Here Comes The Band is both for children, adults and families listening to good music together. The CD features 14 original and traditional songs and includes a 20-page illustrated booklet with paintings and drawings by Portland, Oregon artist Christopher Shotola-Hardt, and lyrics, activities and more.

Stephen Cohen is an accomplished and award winning folk artist (and visual artist) and this is his first CD for children. His music is summed up nicely by Bill Smith from the Willamette Week..." It's an act all the Whos down in Whoville would dig- ambient, worldly, quirky folk. His new disc...offers a good helping of his eerie take on folk Americana. His voice, a mix of Bill Morrissey's ragged growl and Rickie Lee Jones, scat stuttering, spars with his guitar playing, which dodges fast fretwork for the different shade of inventiveness and edge of John Fahey's quiet, quirky ramblings. Live, his handmade "sculptural percussion" instruments have got to be seen to be believed."
