Readeez - Songeez: Original Music From Readeez

The songs of Michael Rachap's Readeez video series have been one of the strong points in this new indie kidvid project. Released in Novemeber 2009 alongside the brand's second DVD, this CD is a winner from beginning to end.

The twenty-eight tunes span a variety of genres and tempos. And though every song is appropriate for for the under-six crowd, it's a good bet that older children and parents will find these clever melodies and lyrics stuck in their heads. Arrangements run toward piano-and-vocal, but there's more than a bit of uke, guitars (accoustic and electric) and whistling.

Here's what critic Jeff Bogle had to say:"Readeez Volume 2 is a treat to watch, but the Songeez disc, complete with the best 28 numbers (spanning both DVDs) and a 32-page booklet, is where it's at. Now we can listen on the go -- and you know what, the songs take on a different shape when only one sense is in use. The stark, clever video production paired with these tunes on the DVD is awesome, don't get me wrong, but the songs, I'm a little surprised to discover, stand proudly on their own. In case it's not 100% clear by now - I'm really in love with this CD!"
